Rohan PoudelBy Rohan Poudel

Panchakanya Group, a prominent industrial conglomerate in Nepal, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the prestigious Green Pro standard for its CPVC pipes and stainless steel tanks. This esteemed certification was awarded by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a leading institution in India dedicated to environmental and sustainable development initiatives. The recognition was formally presented at the 9th Edition of the CII Green Pro Summit 2026, held in Pune, India.

The Green Pro standard is a rigorous benchmark that assesses products across multiple critical dimensions, including their entire production cycle, environmental impact, commitment to sustainable development, adoption of renewable energy technologies, efforts in carbon emission reduction, and adherence to industrial safety protocols. For Panchakanya Group, this certification signifies that their CPVC pipes, manufactured by Panchakanya Plastic Pvt. Ltd., and their stainless steel tanks, produced by Panchakanya S.S. Pvt. Ltd., have successfully met these stringent international criteria, underscoring their dedication to eco-friendly and responsible manufacturing practices.

This is not the first time Panchakanya Group has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability. Just a year prior, Panchakanya Steel Pvt. Ltd., another entity within the group, made history by becoming the first company in Nepal to receive the Green Pro standard for its steel rebar products. This consistent achievement across different product lines highlights a group-wide philosophy that prioritizes not only quality but also environmental stewardship and long-term sustainability.

Since its inception, Panchakanya Group has maintained a steadfast focus on integrating environmental protection and sustainable development into its core business operations. The group has consistently adopted innovative approaches in its production processes, coupled with substantial investments in renewable energy. These efforts have not gone unnoticed, as the group has been repeatedly honored with awards from various foreign donor organizations for its contributions to the renewable energy sector.

Beyond its environmental accolades, Panchakanya Group has also been a pioneer in product innovation within Nepal. A decade ago, the group was the first to introduce stainless steel tanks to the Nepali market. Today, their state-of-the-art facilities in Kathmandu and Rupandehi Kotihawa produce a wide range of stainless steel tanks, with capacities spanning from 125 liters to an impressive 10,000 liters, catering to diverse consumer and industrial needs.

The group's reach extends beyond national borders, with its stainless steel tanks being exported to various Indian cities, including Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Basti, and Kolkata, for the past eight years through a network of authorized dealers. However, as shared by General Manager Devendra Sahu, the high logistics costs currently pose a challenge in expanding their market presence to southern Indian regions like Bengaluru, despite consistent demand from those areas.

Furthermore, Panchakanya Group holds the distinction of being the first company in Nepal to commence the production of CPVC pipes. This pioneering effort began in 2063 BS (2006 AD), utilizing high-quality Japanese raw materials. The industry now produces CPVC pipes ranging from 15mm to 100mm in diameter and was also the first to receive the Nepal Standard (NS) mark for CPVC pipes, further cementing its leadership in the domestic market.

Panchakanya Group extends its heartfelt gratitude to its valued customers, business partners, distributors, and all stakeholders for their unwavering trust and continuous support. The group reaffirms its commitment to delivering superior quality, innovative, and environmentally friendly products in the future, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable industrial practices in Nepal and beyond.
