Senior ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist Dr. Dhundiraj Paudel has been appointed as the President of the Nepal Medical Council. Health Minister Nisha Mehta officially made the appointment on Wednesday. Dr. Paudel previously served as the chairman of the Bharatpur Hospital Development Committee, where he advocated for developing the facility into an independent national medical science institute. He earned both his MBBS and Master of Surgery in ENT from Tribhuvan University's Institute of Medicine, and has prior leadership experience serving on the council's ethics and examination committees. In his new role, he will oversee medical professional standards, practitioner codes of conduct, and medical education regulations across the country.
