Indian Army Chief Meets Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah at Singha Durbar
Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth paid a courtesy visit to Nepal's Prime Minister and Defense Minister Balendra Shah at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. The meeting included India's Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, and was confirmed by the Prime Minister's press expert, Deepa Dahal. General Seth is on a four day official visit to Nepal with a five member delegation, including his spouse, Komal Seth, at the invitation of Nepal's Chief of Army Staff, General Ashok Raj Sigdel. During the visit, President Ramchandra Paudel conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army upon General Seth at Rastrapati Bhawan, continuing a reciprocal tradition between the two nations that dates back to 1950. Additionally, General Seth held bilateral talks with General Sigdel to strengthen military relations, handed over medical and military equipment to the Nepali Army, and offered prayers at the Pashupatinath Temple. General Seth completes his visit and returns to India on Wednesday.
