Power Supply Restored in Flood Hit Areas of Nuwakot

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has restored electricity in several flood affected areas of Nuwakot after the Bhotekoshi River flood disrupted the regular power supply. Areas including Kharanitar, Samundratar, Chaugada, Likhu, Panchakanya and Bidur are now receiving electricity through an alternative supply route from Sindhupalchok. The NEA is also working to restore additional lines serving the affected areas and aims to bring them into operation by this evening. Some parts of the Trishuli area are being supplied through the Salayantar substation in Dhading. The authority has deployed technical teams, equipment and other resources from Kathmandu and nearby areas to inspect and repair damaged power infrastructure and restore normal supply as soon as possible. The move follows instructions from Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha to speed up rescue efforts for affected and unreachable employees and take immediate steps to restore electricity services.
